Royal Enfield has expanded its 650cc lineup in India with the launch of the much-awaited Classic 650 Twin. The model has been priced from Rs 3.37 lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle made its global debut at EICMA 2024. It now joins the manufacturer’s growing middleweight portfolio, which includes the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, and the recently launched Bear 650. Here’s all you need to know about the model.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Design

In terms of design, the Classic 650 takes heavy inspiration from its smaller sibling, the Classic 350. It features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, rounded fenders, triangular side panels, and the brand’s signature round headlamp with tiger-eye pilot lamps. The motorcycle is available in four colour options: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Engine

The Classic 650 Twin draws its power from the familiar 648cc parallel-twin motor seen in the other models in the company’s 650cc lineup including the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650. The motor produces 46.3 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,650 rpm. This powerplant comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, paired with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Hardware

The motorcycle shares its main frame, sub-frame, and swingarm with the Shotgun 650. For suspension duties, it employs 43mm telescopic Showa front fork with 120mm of travel and twin shock absorbers at the rear with 90mm of travel. It rides on spoked wheels, featuring a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear setup, wrapped in tubed tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
