On a hot Mumbai afternoon, Suryakumar Yadav lit up the Wankhede Stadium with a stroke-filled 28-ball 54 during their IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Suryakumar Yadav on Sunday became the second fastest to reach 4000 runs by balls faced in the IPL.

His 4000 runs came from 2714 deliveries, making him the second fastest on the list, which is topped jointly by Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, both of whom reached the milestone off an identical 2658 balls. Former Australia opener David Warner scored his 4000 runs off 2809 balls, while Chennai Super Kings legend Suresh Raina reached the mark off 2886 balls. These five make up the top of the list.

Surya’s excellent knock also helped him clinch the Orange Cap with 417 runs from 10 matches, at an average of 69.50 and a strike rate of 170.20.
“After a long time, I am wearing this cap. Feels really special, I will try and continue the same thing,” he told broadcasters.

On the playing conditions and on Mumbai Indians’ total of 215/7, Surya said, “I was really happy when we lost the toss, because it is really hot out there, but scoring 200-plus is really good from a batting point of view.”
“It is a good score. The wicket is a little slow. It will be challenging with their batting line-up. Let’s see how it goes.”
For LSG, Mayank Yadav (2/40) and Avesh Khan (2/42) were the most successful bowlers.
