MG Windsor EV Pro: All you need to know

Since its debut in September 2024, the MG Windsor has steadily climbed the sales charts to become India’s best-selling EV for seven consecutive months. In fact, over 20,000 units have already been sold.
Building on that momentum, the manufacturer is now looking to offer a more powerful package. While official specifications are yet to be confirmed, spy shots of the heavily camouflaged as well as undisguised test mules have revealed a few telling upgrades. Most notably, the Pro version is expected to feature a larger battery than the current 38 kWh unit, which should improve the claimed range of 332 km. We can expect MG to equip the Windsor Pro with a 50.6 kWh battery pack that will be good for a range of up to 460 km on a single charge. Besides that, the model could also introduce a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function.

Recently, we also shared the exclusive spy shots of a test vehicle that bore the telltale signs of an ADAS suite, including a visible radar module on the windshield and an ‘ADAS’ badge on the tailgate. With this, it is likely to come with tech like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking and more.
In terms of features, the current model already comes well-equipped, boasting a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, panoramic glass roof, and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system. These features, along with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic parking brake, are likely to be carried over.
As for the powertrain, the existing Windsor delivers 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque, and is offered in Excite, Exclusive, and Essence variants, priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 16 lakh, ex-showroom, without BaaS. Whether the Pro will bring more power is yet to be seen.
MG’s electric charge in India remains strong. In April 2025 alone, the company saw a 23% jump in overall sales, with 5,829 units dispatched compared to 4,725 in the same month last year. In March, EVs accounted for over 85% of MG’s total sales and the Windsor has been named the best-selling EV in India for the past seven consecutive months.
