NEW DELHI: India’s men’s 4x100m relay team faced disqualification during the heats at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea, on Friday. The team, comprising Manikanta Hoblidar, Amlan Borgohain, Rahul Kumar, and Pranav Gurav, had initially secured second place — typically enough to secure a spot in the final. However, they were later marked as disqualified while the official results were being announced. The disqualification came after officials determined that a baton exchange had occurred outside the designated takeover zone, in violation of World Athletics Technical Rule 24.7.Malaysia’s relay team also faced disqualification for the same infraction.
