Operation Sindoor trademark: After the government’s announcement regarding strikes on terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, four separate entities have submitted applications to the trademark registry for registering ‘Operation Sindoor‘.The applicants are Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and three private individuals – Mukesh Chetram Agrawal, Retired Group Captain Kamal Singh Oberh, and Alok Kothari. Each has independently filed for trademark ownership of ‘Operation Sindoor’ under Class 41, encompassing educational and entertainment services, according to an ET report.Records from the trademark registry indicate that Mukesh Ambani-led RIL’s application specifically covers entertainment provision, production, presentation and distribution of audio-visual content, still and moving images, and data. Organisations operating in these domains can safeguard their brand identity and services through registration under this classification, according to Ashish Pyasi, Partner at Aendri Legal.“The person or organisation from the entertainment industry registering the trademark in this category will be able to exclusively use that trademark and can restrain others from using it for any future production, etc,” he elaborated.Also Read | India soars, Pak crashes! No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution,” the government’s statement declared. “These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” it concluded.
