Hyundai Exter gets new affordable CNG variant: Price, mileage, features and more

Hyundai Motor India has launched the Hyundai Exter CNG with a new affordable variant. The Exter Hy-CNG is now offered with an entry-level EX variant priced at Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Previously, the Exter CNG was offered with mid-spec S, SX and SC Knight editions. With the introduction of the new EX trim, the Exter Hy-CNG is now affordable by up to Rs 1 lakh. The lower entry price significantly broadens its appeal, especially for first-time car buyers and those considering a switch to CNG for lower running costs.

Interested customers can book the micro CNG SUV by visiting their nearest dealership or online and the deliveries are expected to begin soon. The Exter is the first Hyundai model to get dual-cylinder tech, and Hyundai is also the second manufacturer in India to offer dual-cylinder tech for CNG models after Tata Motors. The Exter Hy-CNG will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine puts out 69hp of power and 95.2Nm of torque and comes paired only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The micro SUV has a tank capacity of 60 litres and has 27.1km/kg efficiency as per ARAI.
In terms of features, the EX variant gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking, keyless entry, 3-point seat belts for all seats with seat belt reminders, H-shaped LED tail-lamps, body-coloured bumpers, a digital instrument cluster with 4.2-inch MID, front power windows, adjustable rear headrests, manual air conditioning, driver seat height adjustment, and rear parking sensors.
