Exclusive! MG Windsor spotted with ADAS upgrade, likely to get more range: Details

JSW MG Motor India is gearing up to give India’s best-selling electric car, the Windsor EV, a big tech and performance upgrade. Since its launch in September 2024, the Windsor has made a solid mark in India’s EV space, quickly climbing to the top as the country’s best-selling EV for seven consecutive months. Notably, over 20,000 units have already been sold.
Its success so far can be credited to a host of reasons including a unique, crossover design, list of features, and the much-talked-about Battery-as-a-Service option. However, the story doesn’t stop here. The manufacturer is now all set to further enhance the package with a major tech upgrade.
MG Windsor EV: Spotted with ADAS!
We recently spotted an undisguised test mule of the updated MG Windsor, and what immediately caught our attention was the ‘ADAS’ badge on the tailgate. There was also a radar module installed in the front windshield.
Well, this clearly suggests that the Windsor is all set to get ADAS features soon. This could include functions like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking among others. It is also likely to include a larger battery pack. The current Windsor uses a 38 kWh LFP battery that delivers a claimed range of 332 km. With the upgrade, MG is expected to push that range higher and make the car further more competitive in its segment.
Powering the current model is a motor that puts out 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It’s available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 16 lakh, ex-showroom, without BaaS. As for features, it gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, a panoramic glass roof, and safety bits like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ESC.
JSW MG Motor India: Sales momentum
MG’s strong EV momentum continues as well. In April 2025 alone, the company recorded a 23% growth in sales, dispatching 5,829 units; up from 4,725 units a year earlier. In fact, electric models made up more than 85% of the company’s total sales in March, showing just how central EVs have become to MG’s India strategy.
